Eamcet Counselling - What to Expect

Engineering and Medical common entrance test conducted by the Government of Andhra Pradesh is the first step towards achieving an admission into any professional Engineering or Medical colleges. Many students take this test post the intermediate exams. The rigor that goes into preparing for this exam makes many in the academic community rank it as the 2nd toughest competitive exam to take in India behind the IIT JEE thats conducted for entrance into various Indian Institutes of Technologies in India. Counselling to admissions into the professional colleges of AP is managed centrally and here is a summary of what to expect in the counselling session.

Registration counters are available to pay the fee. Candidates are expected to pay the fee and obtain a receipt at this counter. Once the receipt is received, you should enter your Hall Ticket / Registration number, Rank and Name into a book managed at the registration counter and wait for your turn.

Verification of credentials is the next step in this process and you will be called for the same while you wait in the area. In this process, the candidate is expected to submit the original certificates for verification. Once this is completed you will be asked to wait in the waiting hall until your name and number is called for counselling. While you wait, its prudent to review the options form given to you and fill the same.

Counselling area is where the actual work happens. This is where your information will be entered into a computer and you are asked to verify the details surrounding your residence / local area, category, sex before the details are submitted for processing. Now the counselor enters the options you have picked in your options form and its important to verify that these options have been entered properly on the computer monitor.

Allotment of seat based on your preferences is made per merit in a sequence driven by your Rank and other special categories you may belong to. If the options provided by you are not available, you will be asked to identify new options or alternatives that will work within the combination of your rank and category at the allotment counter. Once your allotment order is finalized, you will be asked to verify and sign on the order. Your file containing all the certificates and the allotment order will be forwarded to the fee counter where you will be expected to pay your fee by DD or Cash. Be prepared to pay the fee in full as special requests are not entertained at this stage.

Once you pay the fee, the allottment order issue counter becomes the last step in this entire process. At this counter you will be able to receive a receipt for certificates, allotment order and a receipt for the fees that you paid.

We recommend that you move out of the area once this process is complete to make room for others and allow for the process to continue without too many hitches.
