EAMCET 2009 Counselling dates and admission fees Update

EAMCET 2009 results are out, but the state government has not yet decided on the fee structure for the engineering colleges in Andhra Pradesh. Officials indicated that the AP Higher education department would decide on a fee structure at a meeting on June 29th.

West Bengal enacts tougher criteria for management quota seats in Engineering

West Bengal state announced that it will enact tougher criteria for students seeking admission into its private engineering colleges under the management quota. Per the new guidelines communicated by an official at the higher education department, students must now score atleast 50 percent in Math, Physics, Chemistry during thier 10 plus 2 exams and rank 60,000 or better in the state jee or rank five lakh or better in the AIEEE entrance examination to qualify.

India Malaysia to work on partnership in education

Indian education minister Kapil Sibal said today that India's education system needs massive reforms. While not elaborating on the measures he is going to take, Mr. Sibal went on to compare the scale of reforms to those introduced in the Indian economy by the then Finance Minister Manmohan Singh in 1991.

EAMCET 2009 Counselling to start on July 8

EAMCET 2009 candidates can look forward to the announcement of the revised fee structure for professional courses like BE, BTech, MBA and MCA by the end of this month. APSCHE chairman KC reddy informed that the Admission Fee Regulatory Commission is meeting with the AP State Council of Higher Education (APSCHE) to finalize the structure of the fee for the academic year 2009-2010.

EAMCET Counselling Procedure Announced

EAMCET counselling for admissions to engineering, medical, agriculture and pharmacy courses based on Eamcet rank will begin in the first week of July. The counselling will be fully web based this time and students will be given an admission online.

90% Reservation for SSC is Discrminatory Under the Constitution

As per the educational Institutions the unfair and discriminatory reservation policy proposed by the Maharashtra state government to reserve 90% percent seats to SSC students in junior college.Under the constituion this proposal is discriminatory and violates the right of equality. There can be no reservation based on caste, race, religion when it comes to education.

Maharashtra State Government Plan to Allocate Only 10% seats to Non-SSC Students

The Maharashtra state government has proposed a reservation policy of allocating 90% seats for SSC students. This reservation policy made some parents of the non-SSC board students of class X fuming with rage. A group of 50 parents in the city has been preparing to go to court over the issue.

Gerry Arathoon, spokesperson of the ICSE board is upset at the state government'S proposal to reserve 90% seats for SSC students in junior colleges.According to him this is an unfair and was not mentioned during the meeting that was conducted couple weeks ago in Maharashtra.Representatives of ICSE, SSC, IB and IGCSE attended ths meeting and there was no mention of 90% reservations for SSC students.
