Education infrastructure in Bihar not meeting standards

Vice-President Mohammad Hamid Ansari said on Wednesday that Bihar’s educational infrastructure does not measure up to its historical standards and the quality of education in the state does not fulfil the requirement of a fast developing society. He was speaking at the inauguration of the Chandragupta Institute of Management Patna (CIMP), a business school on the lines of the prestigious Indian Institutes of Management (IIMs).

Incentive to girls for secondary education approved by Indian Government

The Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs (CCEA) gave its approval today for the implementation of the centrally sponsored scheme of “Incentive to Girls for Secondary Education” with a total incurring expenditure of Rs.1500 crore during the 11th Five year Plan.

Indian youth groups in Malaysia seek funds for education

A coalition of Indian youth groups headed by the Malaysian Indian Youth Council (MIYC), is asking the government to fund their social education programmes. MIYC will be submitting its requests to the government through MIC president Datuk Seri S. Samy Vellu within the next two weeks. speaking at a Hindu New Year carnival in Brickfields, MIC vice-president Datuk S. Veerasingam said education programmes had been mooted by the coalition to curb social problems among Indian youth.
